"I enjoy the versatility of watercolours and how differently each artist is able to work with it".
This is what Margot strives to communicate in her classes and in her own work. Margot encourages her students to develop their own potentials rather than strive to paint like their idols. She feels it is better to spend one's time painting what is important to the individuals, accepting and discarding techniques and methods as appropriate or inappropriate to the expression of one's individual concepts.
Margot has been teaching painting classes at senior centers, community centers, adult summer camps, hospice and various art groups such as the Button Factory in Waterloo and the Guelph Community Arts Group for over 20 years. She is a qualified teacher with a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts. She has won many Awards and Honorable Mentions for her work. She believes in creating a positive, stress free environment for her students, and offers constructive criticism to help them achieve their full potential. Her workshops are popular and well attended.'Introduction to Watercolours' Classes

Painting on Canvas with Watercolours!!!
Next class Summer 2012, exact date and location to be determined
For some time now I have been interested in expanding my watercolour
painting surfaces. I find it very frustrating at times having to lug
heavy
glass covered paintings to shows and exhibitions only to find
later that
some were scratched or even broken. I discovered a new way to
enjoy
watercolour painting that allows you to frame your paintings like
oil
painters do - with a frame only (NO GLASS) or better yet with no
frame at all. I learned the technique and would like to pass on my
knowledge to you. Please bring your own watercolour supplies (Supply list will be provided
upon registration), one foot by two
foot
gallery stretched canvas, pictures
for reference material
and a bagged lunch.
