Margot Snow is a watercolour artist with works exhibited in both private and corporate collections across North America and Europe.
Margot, a native of Montreal, Quebec, lived in Guelph, Ontario for 25 years and since 2003 resides in Muskoka with her husband Wayne. Educated at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the University of Guelph in Fine Arts, Margot has concentrated on watercolour painting since 1979. Margot and Wayne have two sons, Graham (in Australia) and Gregory (in Toronto).
Margot is the owner of For the Love of Art Studio & Gallery in Muskoka. This year her work will also be available at the Trading Bay Gallery in Dorset and the new Bohemian Cafe and Gallery in Bracebridge. Margot is a member of the Group of Ten. A group of talented Muskoka Artists that will be showing their work this summer in Bracebridge at the Bohemian Cafe and Gallery August 12 - 26 and at the docks in Gravenhurst at Zensations July 22 to August 7. Margot is once again participating in the Woodland Art Experience in Kilworthy on August 6 & 7. Margot's work is also featured in the 2011 Muskoka Art's and Craft's Guide.
Margot is an avid gardener who's love of life and nature is reflected in her paintings. Each work is "a celebration of the harmony and beauty of the natural world". She brings life to common objects with her intense use of colour.
"Colour is the essence of my work - it is uppermost in my mind when I choose a subject and is what challenges and interests me most. Colour can change a viewer's mood, it can stimulate a feeling of peacefulness and well-being and it can awaken a soul."
